CBX 500

The Lucent CBX 500 Multiservice WAN Switch is designed to enable service providers to offer ATM, Frame Relay, and IP services on a single, high-capacity platform. The CBX 500 is ideally suited to provide an aggregation point for downstream distribution devices, while still providing Quality of Service (QOS).

To maximize uptime, the CBX 500 employs a methodology called "Automatic Protection Switching" which has the ability to switch all circuits and data from a failed port to a protected port within
milliseconds. Additionally, the PVC Redirect and Resilient Network to Network Interface (NNI) features also minimize downtime due to failures. PVC Redirect connects users to a backup facility upon detecting a failure on the primary logical port, while Resilient NNI can switch carrier-to-carrier connections to a backup link to protect against facility failures.

NavisCore provides fault and configuration management capabilities for the CBX 500. It is a single centralized management tool used to generate and distribute configuration information to the switches. It is based on SNMP operations and is integrated with Hewlett-Packard's OpenView, allowing operations to create graphical maps of the network topology and utilize a number of
OpenView's SNMP tool sets.

CBX 500 Hardware Specifications:  19"x33.25"x15" Std 19" or 23" -48 to -60 VDC/45 amps @ -48 VDC

B-STDX

The Lucent B-STDX Multiservice WAN switches offer carrier-class,
cost-effective, and full-featured frame relay, IP, and ATM services. The B-STDX switch offers forward-looking technologies such as: IP
Navigator MPLS, and ATM-to-frame relay interworking modules for
high-speed trunking and low-speed converged access.

The wide range of high port density I/O modules allows service providers to save continuing revenue from prior platform investments for true investment protection. The B-STDX
family offers a low-cost point of entry for smaller network deployments that do not require the bandwidth and capabilities of the CBX 500 or GX 550 products.

BSTD-X Hardware Specification:  19"x31.5"x15" 19" or 23" CO rack -40 to -76 VDC/20 amps @ -48 VDC N/A
